I grew up in Plattsburgh. Early on in my life I became aware that my family owned and operated a local insurance agency. I learned about the legacy of my great grandfather, E Glenn Giltz, from Rod, who also taught me how to camp, fish, and hunt in the Adirondacks. As I became older I would visit the office to see my mother, Deena, and my uncle, Randy, the 3rd generation to take up the helm at NIA. When I was a teenager, I didn’t necessarily think that I would end up working in the insurance business, I was worried about getting into college and finding my place in the world. I am fortunate that my place ended up being here in the North Country.
I am a writer. Words are my craft. While learning the ins-and-outs of insurance over the past 10 months has been fascinating, it has not always come easy to me like writing does. This blog is a way of blending those two worlds.
I hope you will find the following blogs informative. The purpose is to create a resource of general insurance information and to inform you on our initiatives. As the 4th generation to carry on my family’s legacy, I am humbled to offer my perspective and to do my part in simplifying the complicated.
