Workers' Compensation Insurance

Workers' Compensation covers medical payments and lost wages in the event of an injury or accident. New York State Law mandates that employers must provide workers' compensation and disability benefits for full-time domestic employees (working at least 40 hours a week).

Homeowners may choose to provide a part-time domestic worker with workers' compensation, which would provide benefits without the need for determining negligence (which standard homeowners insurance would require).
